What is holographic vinyl?

Holographic vinyl is the material we use to print your holographic stickers on. This means we do not have to "print" the holographic effect onto your sticker, and we don't apply a holographic layer after printing.

Instead, we can create a high-quality holographic decal right from the get-go.

The holographic base also enables us to create holographic colours. When we print colour onto the holographic vinyl, it results in a metallic effect. If you are looking for a more opaque look instead, we can print white between your chosen colours and the material.

Is holographic adhesive vinyl waterproof?

Yes. Our holographic vinyl is water-resistant.

This means you can apply it to any surface that might come into contact with water, and you can even wash your holographic stickers in the dishwasher - with your coffee mug.

What vinyl can you use on mugs?

You can use any laminated vinyl with a medium-strength adhesive to personalise or brand your mugs.

How do you put holographic vinyl on a cup?

Putting on holographic vinyl stickers is not difficult at all. You do not need to iron on holographic vinyl or get out the heat press. There is also no need for detailed application instructions, but there are a few helpful tips to keep in mind.

Clean the mug with an alcoholic cleanser and let it fully dry. Holographic stickers do not come with transfer tape. Simply remove the backing paper from your holographic stickers and lightly place them onto the mug.

If you are happy with the position, start applying pressure from the centre outwards. This makes your vinyl decal completely adhere to the surface and removes air bubbles in the process.

Once you have completed this, leave the sticker to set for a few minutes and enjoy your hot drink!

Can I remove holographic vinyl from my mug?

Absolutely. One of the benefits of using a medium-strength adhesive is that they stick, but can easily be removed without leaving residue.

When you want to remove your sticker, simply apply some rubbing alcohol to your coffee mug and let it sit. Then, start peeling from the corners. Use a paper towel and more cleanser to fully clean your mug, should any glue be left.

Do I need a cricut machine to make holographic mug stickers?

If you research how to make holographic stickers, whether that is for an art project or a product launch, you will come across a cricut maker.

This is a sticker printing and cutting machine with plenty of functions and tons of beginner-friendly video tutorials talking you through everything from material settings and how to hook it up to your computer or phone.

But having a cricut maker is not essential to creating your own holographic stickers. You can simply get your hands on some holographic vinyl and cut any shape with scissors or dies.
